Getting Started
WidgetsByScott lets you build reusable, data-driven widgets — charts, tables, markdown, and layouts — and host them so they can be viewed, embedded, or rendered by other apps and AI chat. Instead of every app building its own chart viewer, they use widgets from here.
The main areas are:
- Creating widgets — make a widget, pick a type, give it data.
- Organizing widgets — your home list, filters, tags, and archiving.
- Embedding & visibility — make a widget public and embed it anywhere via its link.
- Apps & AI (MCP) — how other apps and AI agents create and render widgets through the API/MCP.
- Team & admin — your account, consumer apps, and keys.
Public vs. account
Some widgets are public — anyone can view or embed them by link, no account needed (see Viewing without an account). Creating and managing widgets requires signing in; your widgets live inside an account you can share with members. Wondering if it fits? The public viewer is the quickest way to see what a widget is.
